Terms and Conditions

Notes:

• 1.      ‘Malayalee’ for the purposes of the Association shall be :
• (i)                  One whose mother tongue is Malayalam; or
• (ii)                One whose ancestors were of Kerala origin; or
• (iii)              One who has a parent who belongs to (1) or (2) above; or
• (iv)              One who is married to a person belonging to (1) or (2) or (3) above.

• 2.      Types of Membership

Ordinary Member:

A Malayalee, aged 18 and above, at the time of application for membership, and who is a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident of Singapore, and subscribes to the aims and objectives of the Association is eligible to become an Ordinary Member.

Ordinary Membership is renewed annually.

Life Member:

Any person who is eligible to be an Ordinary Member is also eligible to be a Life Member. Life membership is for lifetime.

Junior Member:

Any Malayalee who is below the age of 18 at the date of application and who is a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident of Singapore, and subscribes to the aims and objectives of the Association may apply to become a Junior Member.

Junior Membership is renewed annually.

Associate Membership:

Any person who is not eligible to be an Ordinary Member or Junior Member and subscribes to the aims and objectives of the Association, is eligible to become an Associate Member. 

Associate Membership is renewed annually.

Corporate Members:

The Management Committee may grant Corporate Membership to suitable businesses, corporations and organisations that subscribe to the aims and objectives of the Association.

Corporate Membership is renewed annually.

Note: Membership is confirmed upon acceptance by the Management Committee and payment of the prescribed fees.

• 3.      Membership Fees

Life Membership	S$ 200 (One-time)
Junior Membership	S$ 15 per annum
Associate Membership	S$ 30 per annum
Corporate Membership (Platinum)	S$ 2999 per annum
Corporate Membership (Gold)	S$ 999 per annum
Corporate Membership (Silver)	S$ 199 per annum

• 4.      Requirements/conditions:
• 1.      The subscription fees above are correct at the time of publishing. The amounts may change from time to time by the decision of the Management Committee. Please check with the General Secretary for the prevailing rates.

• 2.      Acceptance of the application shall be at the sole discretion of the Management Committee, who has the right to accept or reject any application without assigning any reason for its decision. In the event the application is rejected, the applicant will be informed and the fee paid refunded. Successful applicants will be issued with a receipt for membership fee paid and a copy of Constitution and a Membership Card.

• 3.      The membership card need to be presented when demanded while at Association premises, attending meetings, voting etc.

• 4.      Any changes to the information given in this application, including change of address/contact information such as telephone/mobile/e-mail etc shall be informed to the Hon. General Secretary immediately in writing. Communications send by ordinary mail /e-mail to the last given address shall be considered as having been duly served on the day following the date of posting or the day of e-mailing.

• 5.      Members are requested to pay the subscription fee and renew the Annual Memberships before its expiry. If the subscription is in arrears for more than 3 months from the date of expiry, the membership gets cancelled automatically. In the event of the member receiving a notice in this regard, please ensure that your response reaches the Association within 14 days. If the membership ceases, the same shall be notified by ordinary mail /e-mail to the last given address.  However the person can apply for fresh membership.

• 6.      A member who has not taken up membership on or before 30^th November shall not be entitled to vote or stand for elections at the following Annual General Meeting.
